Background

I started working on Workmate during the initial stages of the product when many of the core features were loosely defined or not defined at all. I took ownership of the product's early development, designing key components that played a critical role in shaping the product's direction and successfully bringing it to market. This was an opportunity to define the early parts of the product while navigating ambiguity.

Impact

The biggest impact of this project was being able to influence and define the early parts of the product. Much of the product was either loosely defined or not defined at all and through several iterations we got the product to a concrete place.

Takeaways from the process

Be curious and get comfortable with the unknown. There was a lot ambiguity involved in the process and a lot of times there were feelings of not knowing what I was doing. I learned to embrace that feeling and began to understand that this was a normal emotion.

Be proactive and work collaboratively. This relates to the previous takeaway, but being able to ask clarifying questions early on and to have others involved to get different perspectives on approaching tasks was apparent.
